While SUVs, vans and small cars are the main drivers these days, it was very different in the 80s and 90s. But who knows the Mitsubishi Starion these days? The luxury coupe of the Mitsubishi 3000 GT, especially in Germany, is not only remembered by the Franz-Beckenbauer special edition, even so, the Starion parked in the third row of cars hardly puts the Toyota Celica in the limelight. It’s a true turbocharged version of the show that the Chrysler brands Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth also offer in the Intercontinental Country under the name Conquest. With a nice interplay of clutch, petrol and a five-speed manual gearbox, it goes from standstill to 100 km/h in just over 8 seconds and has a top speed of at least 215 km/h. Not much, but a decent value for a relatively narrow 155 turbo. There’s a MacPherson axle in the front and rear, and the 16-inch rims are noticeably better thanks to the widebody kit. A narrowbody variant is also on the way, with 195/70 VR 14 wheels. Additionally, the widebody features mixed tires, 205s in the front and 225s in the rear, which is even better optically than the driving behavior itself. The supply of used Mitsubishi Starion is very small. Hardly any vehicles are offered in Germany and Europe. Prices start at less than 10,000 euros, but with the right history and reasonable conditions, a well-maintained Starion Turbo can cost 15,000 euros or more. Quality is generally very good, aside from the plastic surfaces on the interior and the aging seats and panels.
